alligator gar

pics coming soon, i have a divider in the tank, seems like when hes in the tank its hard for him to eat. when i put him into a breeder net, he slams down a few feeders.
tried hard to get pics, sorry if they suck. first two are floridas, next is the alligator gar in a breeding net
not big enough, i use it to feed him then let him go again. do you think that will mess with him in the long run if i feed him like that? i made his part of the tank smaller, but its still pretty big. it looks like he has a hard time locating the feeders when hes not in the breedeing net. any suggestions? seperate tank is not an option at this point.
you can hold your feeder by the tail and dip it infront of the gar. i do that sometimes. it works fine.
just dump the feeders into his portion of the tank.
they do tend to act like the cant find food,but rest assured he will if they are in there.
