compressicps are recomended as frontosas parter casue of the defensive behavior the diet..both carnivours, also the size compss 6in, anything smaller than 6in will become part of fronts diet
i think you would have a problem cause you need a much bigger tank than 29g cause fronts reaches a size of 14in and live in large groups..so the minimun tank size for them is 125g

great info, I have know fronts to kill a comp or calvus... but really rare... just remember comps grow slower than fronts... both are slow growers...

Altos. are 2", Fronts. are 1". I guess still be awhile before I am offer them as feeders. Also have a spare tank for the fronts in case.
Thanks for all the helpful headups....

well we didn't ment to scare you..;)
i don't think you have any problems..eventhough compss grow slow...frontosa won't be very agrresive till a couple of years..and like mike says the fronts develop slow too

Mike/Gazella:
Understand you are keeping Cavus for a long while, which is similar to Alto. Comps., how big/old are yours? Has any breeding happened yet? Learning they might start breeding around 2 years old, or around 3in. Is that true? Their breeding behaviors seem very interesting, I am just kind of looking foward for that.
