A man's collection can easily represent the effort he puts in the hobby, as we can see here. Very nice man. It is an honor to post in this thread.

I feed NLS 90% of the time. Added to that is some Omega Veggie Rounds, mysis shrimp, and krill.

School me please, what is NLS?

Thanks for the nice comments guys!

Orbit, suPaduPa was kind enough to answer your question. Here's a little more info. NLS is one of those things (along with Eheim and a few other "buzz-brands") that will elicit a strong response on a forum like this. It is a fairly expensive food, but I find it worth the cost (especially when I minimize my costs by buying in bulk). Honestly, I was VERY suspicious of it at first considering some of the marketing I'd seen, but I've experimented for years and years with all kinds of foods. I've even gone so far as to setup some crude scientific comparisons to prove to myself that I'm not letting my personal feelings cloud my judgement. Ultimately, I am a total believer. The more NLS I feed, the better results I see. I very quickly see a drop off in vitality when I add other brands to the menu. The same goes for live and frozen foods.

I feed a wide variety of NLS sizes, from the huge floaters for aggressive feeders to the tiny little sinkers for the more timid sifters like rostratus and the like. Generally, I prefer to feed very small amounts of food (usually the smaller sized pellets) throughout the day rather than one or two large meals. An exception to this practice is with the true predators (dovii, grammodes, etc.) who seem to prefer larger chunks of food at wider intervals.

If I sound like I work for NLS, believe me I DON'T! I have just gained a lot of respect for their products. I have had similar experiences with some of the Omega products, but they don't offer all the varieties of sinkers that I'm looking for, so I pretty much only use their Veggie Rounds (which, by the way, is a GREAT true vegetable based food --- most veggie foods are fishmeal based).

Excellent information! I have been experimenting with different foods lately cause the one I used most is the Cichlid Gold. I know its a decent food but hell, I want to treat my fish with something really yummy like! LOL

I might just try this NLS, it doesn't seem to be too expensive. Especially if it can be the base/main food of feeding.

Do you feed these Amphs any real veggies? If so, could you please list some? I literally just got a baby Midas this last Saturday! Hes soo cool!! LOL

Thank you:headbang2
