Ah, brings back memories. I had the exact same tank and used it for almost 30 years until I upsized. Rock solid tanks those Oceanics, But that center brace was a bugger to work with on lighting.

I see you’re going to stick some beani in there. I come across some Mayaheros Beani in a local shop and the fella told me they was quite rare so I grabbed 3 of them and 2 of them are now after about 4 weeks getting ready to breed.

Yes they are! Congratulations, as you well know by now they can go from White to green. I’ve kept Rio Panuco and Baluarte and San Pedro are by far the best of them all. My wife loves them as much as me I believe we have two pairs currently with fry, our first pair will let us clean their tank no problems quite friendly in fact the other pair is the exact opposite. Won’t let you anywhere near the fry. We have 19 F1 in total and two tanks full of F2 fry. We currently have another pair in the process of pairing up

That’s great, yes that is a very good problem to have. I wish I had that problem.

My family has had an Oceanic since the 80’s. It was the more like the Rolls Royce of aquariums, in my opinion. Broke the front panel moving it and now can’t find anyone in the area to fix it. I’m sure that if it hadn’t happened it would still be running. The stand has gotten a little out if square from not being used and moving around but besides the crack on the front panel, the actual aquarium is still like the day that my mom bought it. Sure wish that I could find another one. Don’t mean to hijack your post but does anyone know of a manufacturer that has the same quality that doesn’t cost an arm and leg?
