that looks awesome. so all your access is from that door behind the tank right? that thin is a beast. that sucks you wont have a chance to test fill it before you leave again but I guess it gives you something big to look forward to when you return eh? I can't wait to see it getting filled this is such a cool project

Thank you.
The door behind the tank leads onto a balcony which has a water supply and a drain. The way I have set up the back of the tank, all the valves are just inside that door, so all I need to do is open the door switch a few valves and my canister filter will remove around 30% of the tank water, then switch the valves again and the water supply will refill the tank through the spray bar. Once it is full, switch a couple of valves and it will be back onto recirculation.

I can't wait to see it filled up also, and neither can my bass who is slowly but surely outgrowing his current 140g.

I got some good progress done this afternoon.

1. Built the light housing and fitted the lights.
2. Put the last panels on the side of the lid frame.
3. Cut the hole in the lid for the lights and made half of the lid hinged.

The photos tell a better story than I do, so here they are........

In the beginning of this thread you state you are no carpenter. Yet you've managed to build this beautiful tank in a seventh floor apartment with nothing but a cordless drill and a skill saw. Liar, lol.

LMAO, thanks. I have even surprised myself. I am very happy with the way it's going.
