any ideas on where i can get 10,000 feeder goldfish cheap?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
and they get a care sheet and other things a 10 gallon will las a year or so and by that time hopefully they'll get a bigger tank
i'm trying to do right by the fish ok?
it's better than most joints that have 50 or so goldfish in a 10 gallon tank crammed in like sardines,
it's not a whole lot better but atleast it's some better.

I was going to say www.liveaquaria.com is the the big mail order place I know of.
They don't seem to sell regular comet type goldfish, just fancies.

Another fish idea for you, maybe you could do white clouds. They are cold water and they could live for life in the ten gal tanks you plan to hand out.

this is all I could find.

I agree with it being a bad idea. If you are going to refuse to give the fish to someone who will not house it correctly then I doubt you will be able to get rid of them at all.. plus you will have pissed off customers who want their money back because they were promised a goldfish and you are tying to palm off a stuffed toy to them.

If you are going to do it, then you have to let go of the idea of them going to loving and compitent owners. No one will pre-empt that they are going to the carnival and will win a fish and have a nice sized tank at home all set up and ready for it. They will get it home and it will live in the critter carrier untill it dies. Sorry but thinking otherwise is being ignorant.

see the thing about the pissed off coustomers thing is i can run my joint the way i please
the more i think about it though i think i might just go with a plush joint
it'll cost me to re-do the joint but i'll save me head aches and i'll have a clear consience

yeah, thats the joys of running your own business, doing things your own way the way you like. And its great to see you have the right frame of mind and putting the welfare of the fish first. And It sucks when you have to sell out your beliefs and kind nature towards animals to make a buck.

I personally like the plush fish idea. i know if i came across a stall that had plush fish, i would spend all my money til i had one of each.

Yeah, there's no way you're gonna get 10,000 GF housed properly!

thank you
if only you lived in the states
i hate the whole supply and demand thing
i have the joint and it HAS tbe used i think i could talk my partner into getting plush toys
the only thing is they are made expensive
well not to you maybe but like the nemos are like 5 bucks a piece for us to buy and to make any money we'd have to sell them for 20 and i don't know many people that'll shell out 20 bucks for a prize
i mean i've got kids to think of but i also think of the animals
money vs morals
with me usually money wins but i don't know this time
like with our old supplier you could get 500 goldfish for 10 bucks
then sell them for a dollar a pi so it was money coming in
but since i've been on here i've really started to look at the fish like pets
i mean i had no idea a goldfish could get big the biggest i'd ever was 4"
so i was always like hey a 10 gallon will hold them for life
boy was i wrong

Not only that but if treated right they can live for 20+ years. Too bad people treat tham as such a disposable species.

Pm'd

You might try www.aquaticfoods.com or contact your local chain pets store to find out what supplier they use.
