Arowana RTG Questions ???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
wait,, home depot huh????

ok my bad i thought home depot was only us (i know, i know ignorant americans )

How nice the gold of the fish all depending on genes end of the day. The background colour and base colour only provide a contrast for the fish to camoflag in there.

Best is to use normal household T8 FL. Good enough. Mine are using these for the past 6 months on my RTG com and their gold is good enough.

These are mine. All around 10 inches. Diet is market prawn with shell. Pictures taken under cool white T8 FL.

^^^NICE^^^^^..... does the black shade on the scale become gold when they get bigger? Mine is all gold on scale with no hint of black until the forth row.

Do not starve small arowanas more than 1-2 days, however don't get the idea that its not a good idea. Arowanas are easier to train when they are younger. Once they get over 12"+, they will become very picky with what they eat.

i know , my 18" red is the pickiest eater ever, 2 failed pellet training attempts. she will also refuses SW, feeders, MP when it gets a taste of crickets. took me about 2 weeks before she ate SW again. but hey she is my first & favorite aro so i have accepted it. with this baby RTG i dont want to make the same misktakes again. i'm determined to make it eat aro sticks.

and thanks gshock i'm going to feed him well this week, and start pellet re-training on monday.

RTG are born to have shine till their 4th row. But recent years of breeding more and more RTG start to have 5th row shine as well.
