the water at the bottom makes it look like your pond isnt level... did you check that before you started building or just take a guess?
Charles..its intentional.. the bottom has been made to slope from all sides, prob about 4", to the bottom drain.. this is so all debris will move to drain from all sides..charles-n-charge;5075728; said:the water at the bottom makes it look like your pond isnt level... did you check that before you started building or just take a guess?
Thanks Brian.. I want to add them almost as soon as i add water.. this is actually cos the 120G i have the trio in is getting way too cramped and i'm sure they'll bust the glass soon.. would you suggest any quick start to cycling.. say prob in a weeks time.. i agree i'm expecting too much.. i plan on throwing in some 100 goldfish and add as much old tank water into the pond as i can.. seriously, i'm stumped on this part..Bderick67;5075779; said:Coming along nicely I didn't read every post. When do you expect to add your arowana? How are you going to cycle the pond?

ha ha ha cool.. The dimensions of the tank are 10'X7.5'X4' and the sump is 10'X2'X4'... I really dont remember the dimensions of his tank.. the sump is 7'X3' i think. his pond is a real beauty.. from what i can recollect his pond is under 2000 gallon..charles-n-charge;5078469; said:ive seen his before, very nice looking. his looks so much bigger than yours though? and yours is twice the size? maybe its just pics that make yours look small, what are the dims?
btw, not hating at all lol just confused
add as much old, nasty, filter media to your sump as you can. i cycled my tank in 3 days doing this. if i were you, id stop cleaning any media from all your tanks and then when you fill the pond, add all the media from all your tanks to the sump of the pond and let it cycle for ehhh 5 days or less. maybe 3. but never in one day my friend unless you have 1500 gallons of old water to throw in thereKaya;5075869; said:Thanks Brian.. yes i did post a new thread on the filtration forum.. got good advice there.. will be doing the same.. there was a suggestion i drop in a couple of dead fish / prawn to start the ammonia rolling.. guess will do that and pop in some gold fish as testers.. cheers mate..charles-n-charge;5079333; said:add as much old, nasty, filter media to your sump as you can. i cycled my tank in 3 days doing this. if i were you, id stop cleaning any media from all your tanks and then when you fill the pond, add all the media from all your tanks to the sump of the pond and let it cycle for ehhh 5 days or less. maybe 3. but never in one day my friend unless you have 1500 gallons of old water to throw in there
