I done a sorta complete water change yesterday, I put murray into another tank with his old water while I was cleaning his old tank. I filled most of it, and put Murray into a bag and done the whole wait 15 minutes thing, it musn't of been long enough, because he looked like he was gonna die, he was swimming dopey, barley standing up, woke up this morning, and he is now hovering under his log as normal. Hardy fish.

what kind of flatheads?

i would say it was a temp shock. cause i dont think 15 minutes is enough to change the temp of water as fish can only have 3 degree DROP in temp in the first hour and 1 degree for every hour after that. thats a broad rule and definently not decisive as different species have different tolerances and health of fish is a large factor.

I wait an hour minimum when I do a complete water change with cold water. Thats what it reccomends on the heater pacage, and thats the time it takes my thermometer to show the right temp.

By the way, my peppermints laid eggs again two nights ago, but the male chucked the eggs last night so they are up in the fry catcher AGAIN. Dunno what will make this pep hold his eggs!
