G'day Guys,

a couple of months back I picked up a couple of Sooty(psycho) Grunters(??)
These fish have a blue/green mark below the eye. They look similar to the photos of Sooty's I have seen,(not much available) But are a only small, one being 6inch the other being 3-4inch and can't find photos of similar sized fish.

They are great fish even though they need alot of space by themselves.

I am after some confirmation and can't take pics, so do the Sooty's only have this Blue/green mark under the eye or is this common in other Grunters, including Silver Perch.

cheers

Hey guys, new here, just ordered an 8x2x2 tank and was hoping for some native stocking suggestions.
thanks ben.

depends if you only wanted freshwater fish, or brackish etc.
im surprised dingoofus didn't mention this but Boylans pet store (in bundy near IGA) Has a small saratoga for sale (or they did last time i looked) plus are you after a single monsterfish or a community tank setup?

Hey gahandi, i saw the lei when i was in there last week. I am going to set up a tank of baby natives and grow them out from about 5cm each.

the only baby natives ive seen are at boylans, barras are good fun to keep but they grow real fast, if your after schooling fish i'd probably go for some silver perch or some red or silver scat (bear in mind the scat will require at least heavy brackish as they grow up)other then that it all depends on your preference of fish.

Yeah sea-base aquariums have a few natives and can order in most fish for you. My preferences are with the bigger natives like barra and togas.

only ever seen barras at seabase, thought they dealt mostly with cichlids? i've had to put off my dreams of another barra until i get a much larger tank, not going through another power failure like that again.
