How big are the cod and barra ?
Feed your feeders as much as they can eat add some shrimps and crays
and anything you can get variety in a live diet is the go.
Good luck getting the cod off live the barra will eat pellets eventually but hard to do with them together.

when i 1st bought them they were both same size but now after 3 weeks the barra is almost twice the size as i worked out teh barra grows alot faster

the cod is around 5 inch's teh barra is about 8 inch the cod atm is not very aggressive but his aggressiveness does show every now and again while feeding the barra is in charge of the tank for now having a few arguments with the cod but nothing serious yet

as for crayfish i have a 3 inch cray in there atm and neitehr of them pay much attention to it also have a freshwater mud crab about the same size and they get a bit curious but just swim away after a few secounds

im hopeing to get anouther 4ft by 2 ft wide tank this week end off a mate comes with hood /stand and filters and rocks for $120 bucks just dont have 120 spare on me atm so going to see if i can give him 50$ a week for it

if taht happens the barra will go in a 4 ft the cod will go in a 4 ft and ill transfer my synphlilum to the 3ft as id rather have native then hybrid cross breeds

Your Barra will pretty much outgrow/kill/eat anything you put in with them unless the fish are much larger than your barra .
Thanks Aussiemonster. I am aware of this and would just like to know if they can be kept together for in the future.

If the size differences are not to great go for it :)

Realistically they are illegal to sell, only way to obtain them is through "trading" with a fellow hobbyist. Get in touch with ANGFA peeps in your area, they are probably going to be your best bet for getting P. mellis.
