Wnet camping this weekend, out of the hundreds of regular JP's I saw there were 5 or 6 marginata. Managed to get 2 this morning. They are in the gar tank, a bit stressed but are stunners when fully coloured up. Lights are off now to let them settle in, am keeping an eye on the gar. He followed them very closely for the first 1/2 hour, slightest indication he is going to have a go at them and they are moving to the pond. They are about 4".

Ahk, so they are in the gar tank, but no pictures of the gar? What is this :p
This is the aussie natives thread so I concentrated on the redtails. Plenty of other pics I've posted with the gar in the background. Plus there's my avatar. Anyway the gar is in the **** atm, he chewed up a mangrove jack I was holding for steve last week so he gets no photo time.

Nice, my little guy has only a hint of red and very faint spots and has not got the dark edges on the scales yet. Hope the***** Gar does not get them, my little one is faster than the JP's, he never stops.

Yep they are definitely faster than JP. In the creek you can see them zip through the rupestris schools, very obvious differences in swimming style and colour when they are together. Was a good weekend overall, no morays or damsels, did see two crocs but (2.5 and 3m). Eek!.
