imo mangrove jack ! mine died a few months ago and im lost without him, no other fish ive kept ever had a personality like him.

im thinking of selling my jar and murray to make room for another one once the family has gotten over his passing away (he was the family dog).

Mmm...jacks are pretty cool, but not only will it eventually get too big for that tank and force you into moving it into another (don't even think of trying to put it with the cod), it'll probably eat or kill your tandans for you.

In my experience, jacks are perpetually pissed off and hungry, especially as young pups. I can't believe the jacks you're looking at are $400 a piece? A few years ago they were selling them in Melbourne for around $60. Surely there's a hatchery somewhere where you can get a better deal than 400.

our mj was in a 6x2x2.5 and he lived in there for 5 years no probs.

yeh when they get bigger they seem to settle down and not be so agro......wanted to play more than anything, the kids used to roll a tennis ball past his tank and he'd chase it all day if he could.

yeh i thought about 60 bux is the going rate for a 5cm jack to, dont buy a large one as he'll have more of a personality if you grow him up.
iv'e seen a few big wild ones in lfs ($300-400), and their bored bigtime just sit in the corner just my opinion.

Hi all, need to clear my tank out by Monday. Trio of snakehead gudgeons m/m/f. Pics are in this thread a few pages back. Would prefer to sell as group. Pickup only southside Bris. $120 ono. Two big roman nosed gobies go with them. If they aren't gone by Monday they go to the LFS.

Getting out of fish for a little while. Still keeping the tanks going but planted only with some schools of tetras.
