Its only a three foot grow-out at the moment. The advantage is when they grow I can get another tank if I want to keep them. Just have to sneak another 180g tank in where my wife might not notice itgruntaz;2921083; said:Five rofl
hows bigs your tank? xD
Yeah my current thinking is jar on its own in 8ish footer (Fortunately doesn't have to be too deep) and a lung + something else ?tarpon/?other probably in an outdoor pond. We already need to build a pond for our turtles so another shouldn't be too much more work Doesn't really worry me how much the tarpon eat as the only real reason I go to work is to pay for my hobbies and to put my wife through uni. Can't cost me much more than what I already pay to feed my dogs+parrots+lories+pythons+lizards+turtles+other fish.Piscineidiot;2921846; said:Be careful about the tarpon. They're very mellow, and learn to hand feed quickly, but they are eating machines. Having a school of 6-7 inchers will result in you going through pellets faster than you ever knew was possible.
On the other hand, if you got a jar and a lung, the jar might wind up harassing and hurting the lung, which of course, will be very expensive...You might be able to keep a lung with a couple of tarpon though. A few big movers and one big bottom feature.
I wouldn't do it, unless you have the miracle nice Murray cod... He will kill everything and it only gets worse the older and larger they get.M|L;2945917; said:I have a baby murray cod with a fly river turtle.
How's that for a Aussie native tank?
Thinking about getting an Australian lungfish too when the cod gets big enough.
