Bad Cat, my personal Journey in to RTC

I'll repeat myself that yes the Bad Cat is a male from everything I know about our RTCs.

As you can imagine, I need a bigger tank. My house configuration will not let me build a 1000 gallon tank inside it, so thinking covered outside tank in a green house.
Move all three RTC in there...
What I would like is a 2500 gallon tank, with 3 seperate areas for the Catfish to do their own thing if they want.
My setup now is 2 Fluval FX6 filters, one 305 (chemical only really) then I use a hot tub pump going into a hot tub heater. That goes into 2 hot tub filters that dumps into a 100 gallon reservoir that is 1/3 filled with bio balls. Water quality has not been an issue in the 2 years I have had that running.
I have asked around for anyone making 3 inch thick accrilc so when I build the big final tank it is able to be viewed for the side. Last 3 1/2 years I have not seen Bad Cat from under the water. What I really want is to go swimming with him.
This was my fish room as of 6 months ago. Since then I have added more lights. Having that 210 gallon glass aquarium in the corner is basically useless... I have a hard time seeing through my plants. ?

This is the updated photo of my fish room. Once I can figure out just where I am building a massive tank, I will set it up as a aquaponic growing system.
I definitely need larger filters and want to get into raising fish to eat. Not to mention the vegetables!

Absolutely awesome write up and updates. My wife and I are currently building a house and it will have an indoor 2k setup. I’m currently looking for a Phantom RTC but have had no luck so far.
It will be roughly 18’ long, 8’ wide and 3.5’ high with a viewing panel in the center down low. The top will be open and the back wall will be scape like a water fall into the tank/pond. The room behind will house the filtration.

Predatory Fins? Have you started a thread about this yet?

Really cool write-up! Good luck with whatever you decide to set up! You could try an above-ground pond, but heating would be the main problem. GOod luck!

I haven’t yet due so some issues with our construction and the builder.
I did check with predatory fins and the breeder is having issues with his male. I was told that they will likely not have any until next year.
