Best HOB Filter?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I don't really see much difference between my tanks with AC110s, Emp400s or penguin350s. You gotta figure though at 500gph the AC is gonna filter alot more then the others.

Absolutely! I added an AC110 to my 75g that was already running an Emp 400. Within 24hrs the water was sparkling clear. I don't know for sure that it was because of the AC or just because of additional filtration in general.

Most likely it is from increasing your filtration by 125%

I would say you're probably right! :D

The AC design hasn't changed for, well pretty much forever and for one reason only. It works. It's like the most primitive filter out there but it still can't be beat.

Definitely Aquaclears. They last forever, are by far the most flexible in terms of media and turn over much more water than other filters. Just added a AC 110 to my 90 gallon SA cichlid tank Saturday.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What about the ac 70. Is it better than the emp. 400? Just wondering cause I might get the ac 70 because of pricing on the ac 110.
