Best Lights for Freshwater 180 gallon tank?

I also use the finnex planted 24-7 awesome lighting, I have them on my 600 gallon only have two actually could use 4 but it’s not bad at all with only 2 for a tank that’s 4ft wide and 30” tall, and my180 gallon. The ones on my 600 are 1.5 years old and have never been turned off

Longest you can get is 48 inches I believe. I use four 36 inch lights for my 125.

I have a 72 long 125 gallon as well, would you mind posting a picture of how you have your lights setup? I have glass covers and in the middle a 1/4" glass support and brace...do you remove your lids or lights when cleaning or water changes, cleaning glass, etc?

I don't usually remove the lighting or tops unless they need cleaning. I just slide them to the back, I can remove my glass tops with the lights still in place.

Thanks! Nice setup...why the HOBs? Looks like you have a Fluval filter...I have an FX4 on 125 gal and I think it may be undersized...

Also looking to add a UV Sterilizer as well...

Your tank has come a long way. Looks fantastic.

To the OP, lighting depends on what your goals are. If you want simple illumination and may want some of the easier plants, I agreee that finned planted plus are solid lights with Ich you can adjust. I have them on my 280.

If you want intense lighting for heavy planting or for tall tanks, get some pendent LEDs. Kessil and Ecoxotic are the premier brands but they cost a fortune. I use Aquaticlife Halos on my 600. Lots of cool features on these as well.

First pic is the 280 with the finnex lights on more of a Red tune.

Second pic is the 535 with the Pendents.
