Tbh which fish you guys would never get bored of to see, interact with and feed.
I guess character is a opinion-based sentiment. In the end, it's just the fish you love the most and would die for.
Mine was my koi before I lost them all last year.
They weren’t the same kinda personable that cichlids are. I think that’s more so aggression on the cichlids part, but makes them cute. Haha.
But my koi were endlessly fun to feed. I could pet them and they would rush up to nibble fingers and toes. I miss them dearly. They made gardening fun too. I’d collect slugs and worms then take breaks to go feed the fish. It was so much fun.

RTGG?When threads like this come up one fish that is always a popular answer is the Oscar. It seems to be the quintessential go to fish if you want a proper wet pet with loads of personality and attitude. It's donkeys years since I kept an oscar but as I remember it certainly lived up to it's reputation as a playful interactive fish.
Fast forward to the present day and i'd say my RTGG is the most personable big fish I have. It's tankmates are balas, cigars, tinfoils and chalceus and they are as dull as dishwater in comparison. That's in my 360g but I must say that my 180g is hard to beat at the minute for pure entertainment value. There's a load of clown loach in there which are always fascinating to watch. But it's my rainbowfish that are stealing the show at the minute. I've added boosemani, turquoise, dwarf neons and reds and their behaviour is incredible to watch. And as an added bonus they are truly beautiful too, especially the males when they are strutting their stuff in front of the females.
So i'd say you don't necessarily need to go big if you want fun fish.
