hey so i have a 72 gallon bow front that i am setting up , i am buying 3 pygo "black ear" piranha, and i want the best looking set up as possible i was thinking to do natural gravel with a black background help me, or should i do sand , but what type of back ground fake plant backgrond or what im confused, also i think ima plant the tank and put some driftwood, plz give me some ideas. also how big of a shoal can i have in the tank i was thinking 3 was max for the tank size

What size are the caribas you are buying? Caribas grow larger and are much more aggressive than red bellies. IMO the tank should be on the bare side to eliminate territories and i find barebottomed tanks to be easier to maintain when you have large messy fish. Three is definately the max for that tank size, but a larger tank would be better. I have a similar setup: 75g tank- three 9" caribas, and in my opinion the tank is too small for these fish. I will be upgrading to 125g soon.
here is a pic of my setup:

they are 9", should i spray paintthe bpottom black or paint it that textured sand color

what about da bachground

yea its better to use back ground black or darker blue there real skidish low light an a place weres theres not alot of tracic

3 9" Caribe in a 72gal tank?

I wouldnt bother. 3 is a bad number anyway, and that tank probably wont be big enough for them. Whats the footprint of the tank?

the owner got his in a 48x24x24 with like 6 i think but i only want 3
