look at my link then my post in that link on the first page of this.
my ideas work great and its all super cheap.
my baby bettas were fighting each other right after they were born.
and just buy clear plastic cups, can get a few hundred for real cheap.
buy brine shrimp eggs and hatch them to feed the babies or fry food.
and if you leave the male in there to long he will eat the babies
No problum, I just can't stres this part enought tho. Remenber before you bred to condistion both the male and female with blood worms { BW's work best for condistuioning} The high protain will help throw the male in and help the female produce eggs. You can tell if the females with eggs by looking behind the ventral fins { or leg fins } and right before the anal fin for her egg tube. This will look like a white tube sticking down between the two fins. I have had females with no eggs on Monday fed with eggs Monday night and by Tuesday evening be full of eggs. She'll look like she's going to pop with eggs or is fat.
There's tons of info on the net about getting the femae ready or feeding them and I mean tons out there. But no matter how much info you read or look at. Nothing will perpir you for the beatting the femaes going to take. The male will all but kill the female til she gives in. Lots of fin skin and even gill damage. Once spawning is complete remove the female at once are the male will kill her.
last but not least, This is the most important thing I tell people. This enought with out sounding bad. Make sure you have a place to get rid of the fry. Frist time spawns of vil tail can and do go over 200+ fry. I had a crown tail female drop 800+ on her very frist fry. I still have females from this fry. You'll need at least 100 to 150 jrs for the mles alone to brake them up after so long.
after the fry are swimming right and not on there head they will need to be fed here's a few links to hatch brine shrimp and how to fed egg yolk.
why does eveyone think they have to fight?
when i did it my way the female didnt get hurt one bit.
if they fight that meens the female isnt ready.take the male out
Well I have 1 male in a 10gallon and feeding him bloodworms and 2 females in the same tank in a breeding cage thingy feeding them blood worms. I can see the one female has really really dark black lines through her whole body.
It's a cup. Here is a full tank shot. I know that gravel is kind of bad but im willing to let a few of the eggs get lost. I have a bubble filter in the back left corner. He is really going crazy about the female. I have been feeding them frozen brine shrimp and bloodworms.
if its only them 2 i would turn off bubbler before you try to breed.
also, the eggs are so tiny, you might just lose all them in the rocks if he cant get them
maybe lay something flat under them
