if its only them 2 i would turn off bubbler before you try to breed.
also,the eggs are so tiny,you might just lose all them in the rocks if he cant get them

I can put a piece of plexiglass under the nest if that will help.

it might,they are small,he will squeeze them out of her and it takes a few seconds for him to start getting them.
better without rocks cus they might blow off the glass but its worth a try if ya dont want to take out the rocks
