Hello,

one member here had posted a pic of a damaged Polypterus senegalus - with lost eyes and a really severed head. The specimen died.

My former Ornate killed at a size of almost 11" a Jack Dempsey of a size of 6" - and eat him acting like a shark.

Two different situations ...

If you would have 50 keepers keeping bichirs and oscars together - 48 with success, one with a dead bichir, one with a dead oscar ... what would you do?

Greetings
Uwe
Good advice guys ill see how it goes I dont have much of a choice :)

i have 3 5" senegals. and i HAD a 5-6 inch oscar. and the oscar would always nip at them if they were out swimming around anywhere near him, and he would chase them down sometimes. i never saw him do any damage though. the bichirs just blew him off.

But i got rid of the oscar. he was getting worse and worse with his agression

So far my Oscar and Bichir, have grown up together from about 2-3 inches each, not the oscar is about 5 and the bichir about 5, they do get in minor fights but nothing bad.

They seem to be getting along quite well. Although the Bichir has been perched up on the top of the tank constantly lately.

My baby Oscar (about 2") likes to pick on my Delhezi that is about 5". It only seems to be when the Del goes up for air. While it's sitting on the bottom cruising around, the Oscar doesn't seem to care. heh
