Black lancer is having aterrible time with ich

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just went through something similar with my new cats aswell. All i did was use a half dose of salt and dosed with paraguard for 3 weeks (still using the salt, slowly removing with waterchanges now) and everything seems fine now.

Thank you for the support @Slippery K

I wish I found some paraguard, but my lfs only carried Rid-Ich plus by Kordon.
I ended up removing the salt from my water by doing a 90% water change, filled the tank up with fresh water treated with prime. Then I did another 25% water change . So that there is know only 2.5% of the .3% salt solution left in my tank.
I have now dosed my 29gallon tank with about 3 teaspoons of the koedon rid ich plus.

Despite the formalin in it, the lancer is handling this treatment alot better so far.

What I dont like so far is that the rid ich is causing my fish to shed their slime coats is this normal for the treatment?

I slowly added the recommend dosage of kordons rid ich plus to my tank. I plan on waking up through the night to do spot checks. But she is doing better on this treatment than with salt and high temps.

I had great success treating a 120 gallon full of loaches (kubotai, striata and rostrata) with Kordon's Rid Ich plus. It took a while , but I didn't lose a single fish.

Good luck.

That sounds very promising, thank you!

So far my lancer catfish is doing better on Kordons rid ich plus than she did with salt. Theres even fewer white ich cysts on her body.
