Never expect the first spawn to go as planed. Even if you get a few fertile ones, Thats better than a lot of 1st time breeding pairs. Flowerhorns/hybrids are usually crazy overbearing in everything that they do, so being rational parents doesnt come easy for them.
Maybe if you see him trying to eat them again, shoe him away and put the eggs somewhere safe, with good waterflow over them to take the place of fanning. Either way your much closer to having fertile eggs now than you were 3 months ago. They will get the hang of it sooner or later.

I can kinda see a lot of eggs now so when she started laying this morning she hadn't put out many eggs but now shes laying more faster and it looks like hes doing his job.

Once they are they are done I am gonna move the flower pot to the 20 gallon I have set up so they are no late night snack for the male.

yea as long as they arent displacing them it should be ok, thats what i did, however get them to dfiffuse as much as possible and if you can vary the flow to a little be lower thats good too, good luck! must be exciting i was going through the same frustration last year with my SB tex pair so i know how it feels...and like the post above says even if you dont get anything out of this batch you are much closer. Also a good tip is ur best bet for filter for the fry is sponge filters, safe and they can pick stuff off of them, so even if you are waiting to breed again you should have one or two of these cycling in your other cycled tanks so they are ready to go. And do you have a Babby brine shrimp hatchery? very easy too look it up on youtube , its best to make at least two, a day apart or even three so you have a constant supply as they lose their nutritional value after I believe 24 hours of hatching (the shrimp i mean). good luck!
