Brackish Tank

If a JD has been brought up in fresh water, to have it acclimatize might take time raising the salinity a little at a time over weeks, perhaps months, and it may, or may not work.
If you ordered JDs native to those brackish cenotes, you could drop one directly into brackish.
Managuense are mainly lake and riverine cichlids, so trying to make it a brackish fish may be difficult.
Why would you want to make a fresh water fish like a managuense into a brackish one?
There are so many brackish types out here that fit the bill already.

The blue dots on the map above are all cenotes.
They are all along the main highway south of Cancun, Eden and Cristalino are both full of JDs, catfish and mollies, and both very close to the highway @ 35 miles south of Cancun.
Below is a shot of Eden cenote

Easily found, they have easy access from the highway.

oh very cool, but I have heard that south of playa del Carmen it is a little too sketchy for a tourist with the current condition of the country of mexico. And is that acme mapper 2.0 the map is coming from? I love that thing.

I went to 2 cenotes just south of Tulum, Crystal and Escondido, no problems, and went to 2 others just south of Playa del Carmen, Cristallino and Eden, no problem. I rented a car, and did all my exploring during the day, and found the locals I met, all to be very friendly.
And I actually preferred the areas to the south, compared to the commercial bustle of Playa del Carmen.
I bought the map down there, folds out into lots of great info and photos of all the cenotes in the Yucatan.

Im not trying to mix just asked if it was possible..lol I already put aquarium salt in with my fresh water fish and have been for years and havent had a problem..help's gill's and help's with stress.
