If you go to Home Depot and rent a big Hilti you can have all those holes drilled out in a mmatter of minutes.
I got a milwaukee hammer drill last night and whipped out 4 holes in about 5 minutes. Then the building manager (AKA wife) shutdown the jobsite due to noise and daughter's sleepy time. I'm supposed to have clearance to finish the holes tonight.

wow that what i plan to do how much does a project like this cost
So far I'm looking at a little over $2,000.00 but the glass was free, so tack on another $1000 for the glass and you'd be at about $3,000.00 +/-

Well worth it IMO.

Haha gummy bears, an old time favourite!

Wow $3’000, that works out at roughly £1’550, count me in on this! Does your costs include all the fixtures and fittings, absolutely everything? Or is it a guestimate?

I'll post the actual numbers later. Off the top of my head, that should be pretty close. That's including lighting, electrical, plumbing etc. etc. etc. The actual tank isn't quite so much.

Ok, so I had to do a WC on my existing stuff last night, then it was one thing after another. My wife is taking the little one out to her dad's tomorrow, so I'm working all day on the tank. I got the sanitred yesterday. It sure doesn't seem like it's going to be enough, but that's what their calculator told me so....

Ok buddy, it's been a month, stop using your kids as an excuse for your laziness:ROFL:

Seriously, you've got two months to do the first fill and to have water running through the filters:) I've got four kids ranging in age from 3 months to 8yrs old and I got mine done in three months somehow:) Ok, enough bashing.... I'm just trying to give you a taste, a very small taste of what I went through last year at about this time. Soon you'll wonder if you're building the tank for yourself or for all the people in the thread?!? lol Great deal on the glass, and great ideas with the block. As you know I went with wood construction lined with drylok coated hardipanel for my tank. But then again I'm a carpenter and I wasn't going to be convinced to use anything else because wood is what I know:D I'm most curious as to your filtration as I've njoyed building my own filters for some time now... Nice job on the pot scrubbers, that always happens to me no matter where I'm at. I turn everything into a fish related item:screwy: We're only a couple hours apart from each other so when this sucker is finished I'd like to come and check it out. We've got family in pit and are planning on making it to the zoo sometime soon (spring) so let me know.... Only problem is I like to talk so I could potentially be boring you for hours lol....

By the way, I've come up with a new rule for you every time you post:

It's required by the laws of monster fish keepers that a picture MUST be posted along with everyone of your posts. No matter if you think it's a dumb picture or not we need to see pictures. Most of us are guys on here and male human beings are visual creatures and must be satisfied! :D

Looks good so far!!:D

hehehehehe. I know. The kids. Once this is done, you're welcome here anytime. I'd like to see your setup too.

It's a deal on the pics. Here's the current one. The mortar joints aren't nearly as thick as they look in the picture. The block absorbs some of the water in the mortar, and looks wet.

This will be a short post. I wanna keep rolling. Don't know when I'll stop...

I'll post more tonight.
