...She's such an active little todler, and to see her not want to do anything is very hard. Of course, i'm her favorite, so all she wanted was "dada hold you". That means I want dada to hold me, but since I always say "do you want dada to hold you?" she learned to ask for me to hold her by saying dada hold you. :)
Plus, now I've got the flu:irked:
Reminds me when I used to take my youngest son with me Steelhead fishing, on Moms day off (He rode in a frame pack that I modified to carry him in)
He learned to call Steelhead "Shhhhh no spook fiss"
and
Trees were called "Duck"...fishing in heavy wooded areas, I'd tell him to duck so we could get under the branches.
His Mom didn't understand...it was our fishing lingo, We caught 12 Steelies that summer, released 11, one was hooked in the gills...
Ah yes the good stuff! :D
Hope ya feeling better, flu outta last just the weekend :naughty:

Ahhh, another steelhead man. Of course, your steelies over on the west coast are the real deal, not like us retards on the east coast fishin for the Erie run in the little trickles called streams here. Do you pitch flies for em or bait? I'm a die hard flyfisher of about 20 years.

hey.. i'v done the foam backgrounds with Great Stuff and its pretty straight forward.. but that stuff is really sticky. a couple of tips.. work in layers to prevent drooping or downward flow when curring, gravel on top doesint look as natural as if you were to coat it with cement... if you do have extra cement make a thin mix and paint it on and then you can seal it up. just a tip

My fav steelie water has thick cover on the banks and a few choice deep slow corners...I'm an Ultra-light dude, Stealth driftboats are the way to go...
I'll flyfish the trout openers on the small lakes with the kids, 3-5lb rainbows, sea run cut-throats...
but for the Serious Steelhead'n
I run 10' 6" Loomis GL3 noodle rod and 6lb ultragreen Maxima mainline tied directly to a #2 Gamakatsu octopus and a sandshrimp or Crayfish tail, maybe a BB size splitshot or two 3feet from the hook if I'm in fast water LOL.
For me it's all about the presentation...
I'm a low clear water man with lots of patience. Always looking to hook-up with that illusive summer-run 20lb'r...even if it's just for a peek...:screwy:

Nice. I use a 9' GL3 myself, but with a flyreel instead of a spinning outfit. Once you hear a fly reel "wizzin", you'll never use anything else. There, you know where that crazy username came from. :D

I gotta make it out there sometime. I've fished the Bighorn in Montana about 7 times now and WA isn't much further. OR and WA are two on my list.

wizzin...Yeah!! I know the sound well...
15lb. native summer run who just realizes his ass is hooked
FISH-ON!! baby...
there's nuthin like the aerials and tail dancing, full well knowing they been to the Ocean and back and survived the perils of that journey...
It's better than Blue water tug-o-war on Marlin and such.

I had a comercial fishing accident last feb 12, a year ago...I ran the back deck, and on the way in with a load of Dungeness Crab, the idiot on wheel watch fell asleep without the alarm on...He crashed her on the rocks and I was lucky to have survived....thank God for miracles and Maritime attorneys.

Maybe a fatty Driftboat will be in the driveway when you get to come out...
We'll hook a few...

Holy crap man! I've watched every episode of dealiest catch. It's one of my favorite shows. I have a whole new respect for that profession, and I will never ever complain about the price of crab!

Heck yeah on the driftboat. My pal that owns a camp in Ft. Smith Montana on the Big Horn has a lavro. Nice boat. That river is insane if you ever get a chance. I could maybe hook you up with my bud if you wanted to rent the place for a few days.

Well, I'm sick as HE.. with a sinus infection same as my little one. I haven't touched the pond all weekend, so I figured I'd get some pics up. I don't know if you guys are bored of seeing this concrete block stuff, but I sure am. I'm ready to get the friggin glass in and finish this thing!!! I'm thinking about takin a few days off in the next week or so and just pound away at it.

This is a shot of the first coat of sanitred on half the tank. I decided after this that I'd use the LRB and start to spackle the little indents etc.

This is with the LRB spackled on.

This is the other side with the spackle. Notice I still haven't finished filling the cores with concrete, and finishing up the overflow "notch".

Just an overall shot with the LRB.

shot of LRB on overflow wall

This is the first full coat of permaflex on the whole tank.

This wall has all 3ish coats of permaflex/LRB so it's done. Just gotta get the LRB all the way around the slab at the bottom, then paint the floor with permaflex and 2 more coats on the walls of the rest of the tank.

These are the parts to the stand that will hold the mech filter.

Here's the stand complete and the mech filter levitating on top :D There's a shelf there (gone now). I decided on this arrangment because it gave the most room to work in the back area of the tank. We decided the washer and dryer are being relocated once I get the tank runnning. That area will be walled off with a door for access, so it'll be the mechanical room for the tank. If my filter isn't enough, after I move the washer/dryer, I'll switch to using 3 55 gal trash cans with a return pump. I just really don't like the idea of a pump below the water line pushing the water up. I know with float valve switches, check valves etc. it can be done, it's just more parts to fail, and potentially flood the house  I really want to keep the system of pumping the water up to the filter boxes and letting gravity dump it back in the tank. No way for that to fail.

the reason i'd go with a different design on ur filtration system is. all the dirt getting filtered needs to go thru the pump first if u go your way. over time that can burn out unless you have a pump designed to push dirty water. either way there's gonna be a problem if ur pump fails wether it be a different designed "overflow" with 3 trash cans. or going the way you are right now. but if ur pump fails the way your going to do it, ur media will all dry out and everything beneficial will be dead. if you do the "overflow" design, if ur pump fails then ur media stays wet and alive atleast. iono man, just a thought. i love the progress on this thing, makes me wanna move my 400gal and build something bigger.
