wow finally a build worth following thats staying on schedule!!! this is awesome! the tanks amazing too:popcorn:
are you going to use top bracing or beef up the top of the window frame to prevent bowing?
have we found out what stocking is going to be yet?

:jaw:

AWSOME!

Love it. wish i had the space, money and knowledge to build something like this.

So did you use the marine ply in the end?

Afternoon break update:

Took the sagging header out and replace it with a 4x4. No more sag.. I should have used a 4x4 from the beginning but I guess I over looked it.

To fit the 4x4 in place I first had to cut it to length, then cut out a section to allow it to be overlapped with the existing 2x4's. Cut 1/8" cuts into the end of the 4x4 randomly spaced and all the required depth.

Then smacked them with a hammer and used a chisel to smooth out the bumps and you get this:

Then fit repeat on other end and fit back in place.

how is it water tight?

It's not yet..

Next layer will be 5/6" concrete boards, then will seal it all with Pond Armor and use fiberglass stips on all the seams in the concrete board for added strength.

Just got done acid etching all the concrete board....

Wow this is coming along amazingly quick! Nice work VLDesign

cool. i wanna see the concrete boards, not heard of them before.

looks better with the thicker wood too
