In the summer a few hobbyists (Jeff, Scot, Richard and Michael) went into the tank to do a little maintenance and catch a few fish. The Brycons were becoming a problem when feeding the other fish so they and the barbs, were caught and placed in outdoor ponds. In time some were given away and the rest were put in the 52K in October with the help of Eric, Jeff, and Jocelyn. The Distichodus shenga, 1 Distichodus sexfaciatus, and Giraffe catfish were placed in the 52K at the time they were caught from the 15K.
When in the 15K tank Jeff and Scot also applied POR 15 rust paint to the steel support beams and cleaned the glass panels.
The water was lowered 4 feet to catch the fish and then raised as they painted and cleaned the glass.
