Do you keep Badis badis badis ?

They are a neat fish. Not monster but very interesting. I had them when I was a kid.

sadly, i dont. I love them, but have never seen one at my LFS, or at all, ever. If i did, i would get them though :)

How do you catch your koi and goldfish out of a such a big pond? It took me 2 days to catch a few cichlids out of my 1,000 gallon pond:eek:

But as usual, you fish look great, i am always impressed by the quality of your fish - they always look happy and healthy - you should be proud :)

I love it I wish that some of my rescued fish could find their way to your tanks!:naughty: Some seriously great stuff. My second wish would be I had your facilaties:eek:

Hey big guy on cichlid forum thanks for visiting.

I hope your rescue program is doing well.

Now you know about the stingray symposium.................I hope you are coming with the whole family.

Hey Rescue Guy

I know you don't want Herichthys dovii ( Guys I know the name has changed I just have not had the time to see what THE NEW NAME is this hour)
in your 800 gallon 14 foot cichlid tank.

Here is my baby (over 12" now in 52k). I got him in 2004 at 7" from DJ's pet shop in Woodstock. The second and third pics are my old guy ( in 15k) that once measured an actual 22" total length. The old guy is still alive but shrinking from old age. He gets hole in the head for periods of time and then it disappears. I got him from AA aquarium in Hamilton also at 7" in 1996.

You had asked me about records of my fish purchases/trades before

All my fish purchases are put into a spead sheet so that I have a record of

Their date of purchase
Their price
Their size at purchase
The store/hobbyist they were obtained from
The tank they are kept in
Their current size
Their common name
Their scientific name (Not always kept up to date as that can change as I'm typing this reply)
Any specifics about the particular fish

I find this to be a good way to keep track of fish and my records have been kept right back to spreadsheets like multiplan in the early 80's.

Please put a picture of your big tank that you built on this thread so MFK can see that you are dedicated to giving your fish the tank they deserve. Doing it will encourage more people to do the same. I respect you for your love of the tropical fish hobby and your attempt to help novices learn more about it.

See you in Chicago at the Stingray symposium........................

Too bad you can not get any badis badis I see them often in the northern states and Canada.

In the biggest pond I get relatives and friends to go in with seine nets and regularfishing type nets after I remove lots of water. Of course we can't catch all the fish but we do get a cople of thousand yellow minnows and goldfish.

The koi I keep in the 20x 30 and we do the same there.

Here is a pic on the shallow narrow side after the water was lowered..
