hey, i just discovered this thread.. dont come on MFK a lot, but im over on AC. i read a bunch of pages of this thread, but didnt have the time to read it all and missed your fish list, but thats okay because i don't really know much about big fish in general, just my oscar who is still a lil boy(or girl?)..
anyways, this is really inspiring.. your tank is what every aquarium kept fish really deserves.. at least the big ones. im debating right now over a DIY tank or a 240ish gallon that has good dimensions at glasscages.com.
i would love to be able to keep my oscar in a tank that big(with more oscars, of course!).. but thats nowhere near imaginable for me right now.
also, i love how you built the tank. i love the fact that a good portion of it is underground.. very smart idea for many reasons with a tank that big, and also looks really cool.
again, very inspirational tank and story. i assume you must be the ultimate dreamer to actually put such a dream into action. jeez, a 50,000 gallon tank is a huge dream for me, BARELY realistic, if at all(atleast in my near future).
on another note, i wouldnt mind seeing pics of the birds on top of the tank if its possible... im not sure if you posted them already, but i wouldnt even know which page to guess lol. my dream tank right now is a big, all amazon biotope vivarium with birds up top, either lizards, snakes, frogs or turtles on the land part, and oscars under the water. this isnt going to happen anytime soon and it still needs a lot of planning.
congrats, and good luck with the tank in the future!

Sorry no bird pics. Your Vivarium sounds great. Won't the oscars eat some of the reptiles?

its cool. thanks, its just an idea. and yeah, the oscars would eat anything they can fit in their mouths(of course), so i have a lot of planning and research to do to see what species of fish, reptile/amphibian, and bird would work good together. good thing i have time, right? lol.
