How is the tank holding up? any problems? I read you planned on this tank only lasting about 10 years and it's what 15 now. so has there been any structural problems? mainly with the integrity of the 1" glass?

Actually I have had only one problem recently, since the others I mentioned in this thread. No problem with the glass, however I developed a leak on the panel attached to the wall.

It leaked in September 2008 for a few weeks into October then without me doing anything IT STOPPED LEAKING.

I have no idea why it started or why it just stopped.

First of all "WóW" with the most insane aquarium I have ever seen that didn't cost 50 bucks to get in. Some pretty amazing fish and quite the impressive set-up I mean you really made a dream come true with these tanks. (Probably many dreams come true, truth be told) and I applaud you. :headbang2

I am new to the fish world and like the others thouroghly addicted. I started off 6 months ago with a fews goldfish in a cube in the bathroom for decoration but the trips to the fish store made me want better fish so uprdaded to a 26 gallon bowfront. That wasn't enough so I bought a 2nd hand 80 gallon set-up and used for a month but the scratches made me want a new one so I ordered a custom 100 gallon glass tank to fit the custom stand I already had.

I Love it, my wife thinks I am an idiot because I have spent more than $1,500 in the past 6 months on fish/filters/etc. My daughter is almost 3 she likes it. My son is 1 he doesn't know what it is yet and again, my wife thinks I am crazy. If I had more space I'd had a 200 gallon.

My 100 gallon now consists of the following:

3 turquoise discus 4"
2 Pearl Gourami's
2 Blue Gourami's
3 Gold Gourami's
4 dwarf blue Gourami's
1 catfish 4"
1 African Ghost Knife 7"
1 Royal Pleco 4"
2 bulldog pleco 1.5"
1 yellow spotted pleco, 1.5"

I am going to move all of the gourami's to a 40 gallon tank and buy 8 more discus for my 100 gallon pretty soon. Quite an assortment I know. I am going to get it organized soon as I fell in love with the discus and the plecos I have to get another tank for the gourami's Sorry for ny long rant. Goodnight. :D

Thanks for the email & welcome to the hobby and MFK. It can be an expensive hobby but it is also one of the most enjoyable.

I am sorry that I have no new pics.

The fish in the big tanks really don't change that much. Some grow a bit and there are always new fry etc. I don't add fish to either tank very often. I seldom take pics however I will get friends to do some new videos/pics in late Spring when they are visiting.
