Thanks Alex. It's deceiving because the tank appears to be a 8'x3'x2 = 360
gallons. Without another fish in it to compare too the giant Piraya does not show his monster size. I know it's been impossible to add any other fish because he kills them.

I think to show his size maybe you should put a foot long ruler at the front glass thus showing how big Frankenstein really is.

My Piraya's are in there own 180's. By putting rocks, driftwood and some plants in them I am able to keep guppies, bristlenose and small breeding colonies of african cichlids. The dither fish appear to provide a food source and some exercise.

Keep in mind my Piraya's are nowhere close to yours in size. Mine vary between only 12 and 14 inches. 2 I bought in 2006 at the Aquarium Center Randlestown plaza (Dennis Hare's old store) in Maryland and the other I got from Biotope (Oliver Lucanus and Sean) in 1997 in Montreal.

Hi Joe thanks for the phone call.

In the first 2 pics you can see the new 2x4's hangers just below the ceiling and the last pic shows the panels my daughter put up to cover the wire/cords leading to the new outlets in the ceiling of the 52k. They are just above the door openings for feeding the fish and don't interfere with the doors opening. I still need to put up a few more and then paint them black in the spring. I don't think they will be very noticeable then.

you should put some ST dats in there to see if they will breed in such a large enclosure. it could potentially save the species in the aquarium trade. ive watched these videos many times and it never gets old. simply the best in the world. congrats.

I will think about the dats....thanks

There are a lot of small cichlids in the tank for them to munch.

Here is a short video (1 minute) of some of them. My camera brings out a yellow tinge in the water that actually is not there.
