That looks pretty close to the orinoco oscar I had.
Maybe, I just loved how much yellow they had and the flecks or orange mixed with those black freckles they had near their face. I really hope to find some again someday.

A long overdue update. The Oscar is coming along but nowhere near the same yellow stripes as my fish of old. This guy does have a lot more red/copper in it. Its currently sits at about 8" and thats me keeping the growth rate slower. I am trying a different approach to my fishkeeping with slowing it down and not power growing the fish out during its early stages. Ive kept some nice cichlids in the past but they would only hit about 10 years old and pass. I really want to try to get my next batch of fish to 12-15 years old. Im doing the same approach with my trimac and pearsei in my other tanks too.

This guy has good genes and no hole in the head or other issues. I know, enough talk... here is a pic from this afternoon.
