Can a fish survive In a bag for 48 hours?

The Last time I shipped my afro in.. i used a pump from japan thats basically kills most bacteria (the bad ones). the fish had to put in a tank instead of a bag of cos.. but at a costly price.. the pump alone cost mi 600 bucks.. but i have been using the pump for my tanks ever since.. and the fishes are much more lively.. the pump comes from YBM japan.. the pump was actually designed for fish farmers against redtide.. if u r constantly dealing with expensive fish.. that might be wat u need..:D

I hope I turn out lucky. I plan on ordering some Kirin Parrots from Petzonesd.com and even though they are one state away I hope they make it. I'm doing the 2 day shipping. I figure they are hardy fish and it should only take 2 days to get here. Blood parrots are really hardy and so are Flowerhorns so their offspring should be tough as nails.

it all depends on the fish. i know i guy who bought a 18 inch bichir(i dunno the species) and 4 days later i called and asked if i could come see it and he was like O $%&# i forgot it in the trunk!!! he ran out and opened the trunk(i was still on the phone) and was like WTF its still alive!!! apparently the bag had a hole in it and it was getting just enough oxygen exchange through the hole, somehow it wasnt losing water, it was also in a styrofoam box, so that might have kept it the right temp. all we know is that is was awesome.

I had fishes shipped to me that survivied more than 48 hours in a bag and the fishes were very poorly packed with a little water in it. Plus there was no oxygen placed in the bags.

How many fish and of what size, and in what size bag??????? Low density in a large bag = less risk!!

The fishes are individually bagged but i dont know the sizes of the bags but it seems with the packing just enough for the fish to turn.

I would like to call your friend all kinds of inappropriate names but instead i'll just say he was lucky

I had a pleco L-114 he was 8 inches shipped from aquascapeonline from Jersey. It was shipped to Michigan and because of a holiday was probally in the bag for 72 hours. It was fine but professionally packed with heat pack ammino block and newspaper as an insulator. Because it was wild caught had trouble getting it to eat. Almost lost it but thanks to NLS and patience he is now 11 inches and the King of The Tank.
