Can Bluegill or Pumpkinseed Sunfish Live in a 75 Gallon tank?

alright sounds good ill try to figure out the situation with the greens, and Gill Blue i forgot about your earlier post sorry man! lol im going to steer away from bluegill then...maybe ill snag a few of them when i can finally upgrade to a 6 foot tank!

Blue gills and pumpkins and redears all have the potential to reach those awesome sizes of 12" plus but reality is it's less likely to in captivity. Greens too cand get 13" + However, I'd go with greens too but I'm bias because greens are my favs. They get big too had one for 3 yrs threw it out in my smaller and shallower pond at 7-8" and it was fat possibly 1 pounder ... lol. Well until the racoon decide to massacure my fishes in my smaller pond.

So you don't want anyone to know that your keeping these fish in a tank because its illegal...so you announce it to thousands of people on here? Several people have gotten busted on here for doing pretty much the exact same thing...maybe I'm missing something but that sounds pretty stupid to me...

I know some states allow you to collect whatever your license allows, as long as you're not turning around and selling them. I'm surprised that keeping "bait fish" are illegal...

Just to let the OP know, if you have a couple males in your tank you could end up with trouble like i did.

I have had two sunnies together for 2yrs, they never really had a real issue, some minor territory issues but nothing bad, till the other day.

I looked in the tank and my older yet smaller sunny was all beat up, red all over his sides, fins shredded and he was hiding in the corner of the tank!!!

I had to put the smaller older guy in my 29g to let him heal up.

Luckily he is doing better, but not close to 100% yet.

So just keep an eye out, things could change with your fishes friendships in the blonk of an eye.

I'd love to and have always thought of having a Native Tank.

But California Fish and Game rules are too much to have to think about it. Who knows I might have one too small or wrong species or whatever it is and a $500 to $1000 bill might be waiting for me. NO WAY.
