rtn is right! They stuck out like a sore thumb when I bought them. The owner had them labeled imperial sharks, and when I started doing some research I found pics of baby pagasius pangasius, and that's exactly what it was. So I now have two species of pangasius, and plan on getting some Paroons sometime next year. Then I'll have three, and hopefully more than that in the long run.

Can you post more pix of the Pangasius sp you have, as im lost now

Here are some pics that should demonstrate what I am talking about. Let me know if there is still anymore confusion. The top one is Pangasius hypothalamus, and the bottom is Pangasius pangasius.

Look the same to me also. As P pangasius comes from India and Myanmar i very much doubt that these fish came in with P Hypophthalmus, which is from south east Asia. My feeling is it a P Hypophthalmus, and just showing sexual dimorphism, larger fish with slight lump being female. :)

They didn't come in an order of hypothalamus. They come in as pangasius sharks. They get the ID sharks seperate.

Still see no difference, will have to agree to disagree :D My thoughts are still P hypophthalmus. :)
But if it grows a yellow tail i may believe you :D

wo wo wo, i see the difference. the ration of the distance between those to bottom fins are different, plus you can really see the difference in bodie shape on the two.
