It does look like a male outside of breeding colors. It's also very hungry, see the sunken belly? Give him some meaty food stat!

Well I found out why he's skinny! Lol I feed him alot of wax worms and they float, well when I feed him I turn off the lights and I stayed down their to watch tonight. The bullhead already ate and started patroling the tank.. well he began to skim the top of the water and he ate the wax worms!! Crazy piggy catfish!! I couldn't believe that... so I got big earthworm and cut it in pieces and the bluegill ate that... ^_^'
yeah my white catfish and channel cat do that when I feed floating pellets. Even during the day. A little skittish though.
