Does anyone else keep these seldomly seen fish.

Mine is ~20" eats like a pig and is out all day.

Growth rate has been similar to a regular CK but hasn't really slowed down at all, just a steady growth rate of ~1" a months since i got it.

Wow awesome fish, never saw one in captivity. How big is the tank?

I'm pretty sure, thats its a variant of a clown knife, chitala chitala, just without spots right?
I have seen one or two at my lfs, they usually come in with the shipment of regular clown knife.

Buts hes a beauty!

C. lopis is the biggest member of the genus, and the un-spotted one.

how big do they get ?

i have seen them in a photo of an asian market for sale as food. They were be-headded but i would guess the ones in the pic were 2 ft long.

I believe they can get up into the 5' range. They are awesome to see. My lfs has a few, but I already have a CK around 11" Don't know what will happen if I introduce a new Knife. He's kind of aggressive (but I never see it, just the aftermath :irked:)

IME the formula for adding a new knife fish is

1 Knife + 1 Knife = 1 Knife

But you may get lucky.
