Whether or not fish will survive also depends on the level of chlorine that we are talking about. High amounts will kill anything. But I guess for a general rule.... the bigger they are, the better chance you have.

Very true .... So many people are under the impression pleco's are just algae eaters and don't care for them properly its saddening.

Chlorine is toxic to fish. Larger fish may not die from it but it will damage them especially the gills. Even small amounts will cause death or at least some damage to most fish.I think wild carp would be o.k. if it is just a little chlorine and only 1 time.
