I have been asked if my Choco loco is growing a nuchal hump. I'm not sure. What say you other Choco pig keepers?

Those are some nice long fins!
Not sure they really get a nuchal hump like ontop of their head.. seems more like a big ass unibrow lol

I've heard that males develop nuchal humps over time. Looked up some pictures and it looks like it could be one forming

Nice. Yours is looking a bit chunkier than mine. I got mine Sept 2020 at a little scrawny 3" or so. It's now a little over 6". The little bugger has taken a liking to Odessa Barb flesh too! It's eaten two so far by my reckoning.

They are a little moody so they change color quite a bit.

They will take at least a year from 2 to 3 inches to show really good colour. A lone choc will show the colours you after it just takes time. As mentioned, they will constantly change colour with mood.
Great fish, I highly recommend them..
