Actually, I can't believe it skipped my mind but a Purple Tang would be perfect for this setup. They stay small and will hold there own in an aggressive tank. And they are gorgeous.

I like the look of kole tangs as well and they stay relatively small so would work well in your tank. And I love the look of male bluejaw triggers and they arent nearly as aggressive as bluelines and queens.

Well, I have decided to keep my niger trigger no matter what.

Same with the hippo, as I already have it. Very few hippos reach over a foot in captivity, so I am not to concerned. I also like the idea of a purple tang, and the seach is on. If its not a purple, it will most likely be a powderblue.

Anyone think I will have issues mixing wrasses?

My last worry is about the angel, and what corals it will eat. It will go in the tank before the tangs, so it can get established and feeding without having to compete with the tangs for algae.

Good idea, I was wondering what you were planning for the Niger Trigger.

Remember, when you find a purple you need to find one for me too. Haha

Powder Blue are pretty sweet looking if you don't end up with a Purple.

The Blue Girdled Angel will definitely need to be fattened up before adding your Hippo or another tang, so good plan there.

I am quite curious as well about what corals they will eat or not eat. Hope some people have some experience in this area.

whats your experience with the niger trigger or the blue jaw? Have you seen them nip at ANY corals or inverts?

I have a small niger in with some softies, and no nipping. We'll have to see how it does down the road though.

My niger doesnt eat anything that I have noticed.

My rectangulus however has a corner of a leather coral that he is deffinitely trimming.

Like I said before, frags are cheap, and I plan on making this work. Lots of trial and error...but whatever it takes.

Purples seem hard to find online.

Maybe I will trade the rectangulus for a bluethroat?

Most likely going to order the juvi blue girdled for $90 on SW fish.com and possibly a wrasse or two when I get back.

Man...it got sold.

I guess I will just have to wait. Thats okay, because it is looking like I will be picking up purple tangs for dustin and myself while I am out here. Going to have to set up a QT for the purple though.
