id skip the pump and do a retro bottom drain to a settling chamber, then plumb the pump from the settling chamber to your bio

a retro drain is a drain that you use when you already a pre- existing pond. if you added the drain when you were still building the pond, you could have just dug and cemented the drain it, cut the liner around the drain ect, but being you already have the liner in, a retro is more appropriate. heres some filtration article's that are worth reading. they cover alot of things,

Well I put the rest of the koi in there today, along with some plecos and my 2 albino channel cats. I still have 1 regular channel cat and 2 plecos to put in there. Im still debating on my pacu. Im afraid with how nippy they are they might tear up my koi. Im also debating about my niger cat, he is gentle and harmless to other fish but Im still not sure yet.

Also, its sooooooo green. lol But thats expected. I am about to order some uv sterilizers and a large pump.

Pacu's are known as ball cutters in Papua New Guinea, so I wouldn't put them in the pond if you really like your koi.

lol yeah I know that. I certainly don't want to have to get in my pond to clean it with them in there. The pond is 4 ft at the deepest which would put my testiculars pretty much at bite height.
