Yeah I'll definitely be getting a sliding compound mitre saw, table saw, and circular saw. Beyond that though I'm not sure what's the best use of money and what's just excess. Good point about using the circular saw for the straight line cuts. I imagine feeding a giant sheet across a small table is difficult too.

A router table would be good, especially if you want to make true raised-panel doors. Also, Dewalt and Festool make a tracksaw. It's basically a circular saw designed to ride in a track for making long straight cuts. It's the best thing for working with sheet goods besides a full sized panel saw.

The next thing I want to get is a nice router and table. It'll let me go even further with my work. I nearly forgot about the tracksaw. They're definitely more purpose-built for the work than a plain-old circular saw. They also make plunge cuts easier to accomplish. I don't think I'll personally invest in a tracksaw, though, because I can pretty easily achieve the same results with a clamped down piece of 1x3 poplar. :)

I don't know if I've mentioned it previously in the thread, but I'd planned from day one to add rope lighting to the top of the canopy to put a nice glow on the wall and ceiling surrounding the tank. I found a deal on some LED rope lights today that I just couldn't pass up. Here's the pic!

I think it looks awesome. Makes my living room look like a night club. :D The light strand is perfectly-sized at 12' long. My aquarium is 8' x 2', so it's right on the money! For 15 bucks, it makes a heck of an impact.

Better than any DIY tank project I have ever seen

NICELY DONE!
