You build that and we'll compare notes here.
I'm very tempted. I'm thinking I could put two or three two liter bottles with this stuff in it (the same way he built it in the video) and put them in the refugium area of my sump. If it can really keep my nitrates at zero then I think it would be well worth it.

I hope he does it for the freshwater system. I want to see what he's using cause I've tried similar and it never worked for me and never tried again.

I think the sulfate based biopellets, will work in fresh water. Kind of pricey fix compared to the water change.
Sugar dosing only cost a about 2 cents per day. It will knock out nitrates, if your Gung ho, about becoming a biologist.

Living room night lights, aquarium heater, algae scrubber, and I support my firefighters, to any one driving by the window at night.
90 watts of LEDs, about 550 watt equivalent.

I have 2 10 watt purple plant light. My very first led. I got because I could not find any 660nm red 12 volt cob" circuit on board" led chips. For wet locations, DIY hot glued to heat sink.

10 watt. On out side of tank, glass has become the scrubber screen. Blocking the screen from growing very well.20170226_085713.jpg this is 2 weeks on the glass side. Since It is a hassle to keep clean.
20170226_085439.jpg submersible lights are mostly maintenance free., algae will not grow over the lens as its too bright.

Better growth with the 660nm red over the grow lights ?
