Good vid. Just had a question, did your PH swing really low with all that co2 pumping in? Also keep us posted on growth rate in the future.

Normally my PH in all of my tanks reads 8.5-8.7. Now the PH in the CO2 reads 7.3!

So, yes it does go down a little bit but nothing to bother my fish. I would recommend hooking up the CO2 as soon as you make it so the fish can get used to the CO2 in the water easier. Better than waiting until it is at full blast and changing everything in one night.

Hope this helps

I filled my second bottle. Same recipe as your original.

I made a change that issues greater safety I think. I have a friend that's a plumber and I asked him how to prevent the back siphoning of my tank water. I know I have a check valve I just wanted another safety factor in place. I placed a loop in the line and taped it above the water line.

Here's some pics of my setup.

My PH was... 6.8 now 6.4 before the second bottle addition. Wonder if it drops it anymore then this. BTW the tank pic will probably show growth rate in a month from now so i'll keep you updated as well dude.

I like it man. How your diffusing it confuses me though ha.

Are you just letting the bubbles go straight up the intake for your filter? I don't think that would work too great. Not sure though. It just seems like it would all disappear.

Try the diffusion ladder. I t works great for me. If you search youtube you can find a bunch of DIY diffusers that work wonderfully that are more complex.

p.s. nice P's

many people use the method of hooking up to the intake. The impeller choppes it up into fine bubbles and it diffuses into the water faster given the higher sureface to mass ratio of the bubble.

:iagree:

I have a canister filter so the co2 has to go through a whole maze before it comes back through the outtake. And like I said it dropped my PH to 6.4 from 6.8 so I know its working. Also I cross checked the kh reading in my tank by the Ph and was able to establish im getting about 23.88ppm of co2 in the water. This is based on a calculator found here http://www.fishfriend.com/aquarium_co2_calculator.html

So with the second bottle im thinking im going to get a slight jump even as my first bottle starts to peter out. Hope some of this helps.:nilly:
