homade growout tanks for catfish. I used two 55 gal. storage containers side by side. I got a cheap in the tank filter that filters about 100 gph, ran an airline and heater to each, and I now have some cheap grow out tanks for when I set up my indoor pond. I plan on growing the catfish to a safe size, and when they are big enough introducing them to my indoor pond(currently in the making) For now they will house some awesome catfish courtesy of The Trust. Let me know what you guys think. I am gonna upgrade the filtration in the future. This setup costed me less than $60 per tank to do.

oh yeah, the padding in between them is because the thin walls of the storage containers expand under the water pressure. On top of the padding I only filled them half way. They are about 20in wide x 40in long, and I have them filled about 12in deep.

i like the foam you used to reduce the movement of the tub!

you guys think it is good like it is, or should I add substrate? never did bare bottom before.

not doing it for appeal, just to house fish until they are big enough

i dont think you need those pads abound the bins as the water level doesent look high enough to cause bulge, but if it make you feel better then keep it :grinno:

they are actually filled about 4 inches more now and they did bulge quit a bit. That's why the pads are there now. I don't care how cheezy it looks. LOL. So long as my fish are well kept.
