it is easier for the 2" pipe, since it can suck the water from a bigger surrounding surface area due to its larger diameter and therefore doesn't need as much "sucking" :D

in addition, you don't get the nasty "maelstrom effect" in the middle of the pipe, which for smaller diameters can trap air and prevent waterflow.

Really awesome design. Going to build it soon. I don't really understand what the 2" to 1" Adapters are really though. Lol.

Look on the second page. The third picture is a 2-1" adapter. The first picture is the same adapter but cut. It is an adapter used to step a 2" pipe down to a 1" pipe.
