Does Seachem Stability Really Work or just Temporary?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Hey thanks everyone for your response I might just save the $40 and just put ammonia drops which is the alternate version of market shrimp (instantly add these ammonia as well as you can monitor it) another reason that I kept wondering is the sachem stability I think can be used for fresh and salt which to me doesn't make sense I figure bacteria is different from both...also like mentioned above wouldn't bacteria in bottle expire easy?

However! There is a thread somewhere where its all about seachem stability experiment...which i can't find!

Jk47 is the one who started that thread ...I think. To have a fully cycled aquarium you are looking at 5 weeks to 8 weeks... nothing wring with that at all but I have read many good reviews on stability and have personally used safestart

You can cycle a freshwater tank in a couple of days using live aquarium plants. I've done it many times over the years. The fact is, you can keep fish in a planted tank with no filtration. I have also done that.

The only bacterial products in a bottle that work are the ones that are refrigerated. Expensive to use. Short shelf life.

In years past that was true, but take it from another old fart that's been kicking around for several decades, Seachem Stability does indeed work. And Joe, it's not junk in a bottle, it's bacteria in a bottle. :)

I've used tetra safestart half a dozen times to cycle new tanks (including a HEAVILY stocked 180) and have never lost a fish in the process. The stuff works, and people who say it doesn't either have never used it or didn't use it correctly when they did. I'm 43 and have had tanks for decades..bogus products with false claims have come and gone..this stuff is legit

All of what you stated may be true but it still does not mean the products mentioned are garbage
