Don't say the words "Group Buy" to Joe

He must have gotten burned by folks, feedback- or hassle-wise, that he never even knew he had done business with. Hard to defend yourself when middle men handle the merchandise along the way and the end-customer is unknown to you.

I have emailed him in the past and gotten similarly curt responses. I guess he finds it hard to sort out the serious inquiries from the time-wasting "window shoppers". Must get old after awhile.

I have never bought from hime before, though some of the other sponsers here have helped stock my tank.

I do wish he included generic images and/or scientific names for some of his fish so that I could make a more informed decision. I mean, what the heck is a "black tiger leaf fish" (under brackish), or a "short fin fresh water eel"?

When I have asked for clarification in the past, I've been told (paraphrasing): "That's what my importer called them. Maybe you should use your local shops"

Dude must have really had his chain yanked in the past. I'll just bet it's a more pleasant experience by phone. More personal.

It would be tough taking flak from someone that never ordered from you directly.

This is what we are trying to say exactly. Too much bs trying to keep track. One person one ticket that is it. Look all, we want to provide good fish to all , but we are a 24 hour operation and sell a ton of fish each day. Too hard to do this group buy thing. If your wanting to do a group buy follow rallysman's advice.
Thanks, Tfd.

I look foreward to talking to you then, because I check your site frequently, having missed a chance to buy white cheeked morays from you in the past, and you usually have a handful of things I would enjoy filling out my order with.

I'm just waiting for the next "can't live without" fish to show up on your list and seal the deal.

That's one of the reasons I wish you had pics or links. I'm familiar with most of the brackish fish in the trade, but you sometimes have some "comon name" listings that pique my interest.

If your site included a link to fishbase or other site for each of the fish, I bet it would save you a lot of hassle as the "window shoppers" could do just that.

Your item#'s suggest an inventory that is largely predictable. It would take some time to setup, but after that only first-time oddballs would need to be added.

Any word on more white cheeks?

Edit: just went and looked at your site again. Most of what you're selling is actually id'd quite adequately by the common name or heading, and some scientific names are included too. But since I'm into brackish/oddballs, there are a usually a few that are kinda ambiguous.

Joe is a good bisnessman with a lot on his plate. he is giving all hobbiest a break with his great prices the least you can do is divide the fish up when they get to you. I have talked to Joe several times and ordered 3 times and i am very pleased with the service and product. I have noticed that Joe is straight foward wih his customers and i am glad at least he is not blowing smoke up my @$$ and not delivering on what he says. If you are offended by the "curt" way Joe talks to you GROW UP you are a adult no body needs to kiss your @$$.

You do a great business Joe! Thanks for telling people what they need to hear! Will call you soon with another order!

It always amazes me how people are emboldened by the anonymnity of the internet and say things that they would never say to the person's face.

YOUR RIGHT BECAUSE IF YOU WAS COMPLAINING TO ME AND I WAS THERE IN PERSON I WOULD TREAT YOU LIKE MY X-WIFE AND WALK INTO ANOTHER ROOM OR HANG UP THE PHONE. I AM FRAMILIAR WITH NASHVILLE AND IF YOU WANT THE AQUATIC CRITTER CAN GET YOU THE SAME STUFF AND YOU WOULD BE PAYING AT LEAST 3 TIMES WHAT YOU WOULD PAY WITH JOE. MY ADVICE IS COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS THAT JOE WILL DEAL WITH HOBBIEST, STOP COMPLAINING AND GET A BOX OF FISH AND YOU WILL ASK YOURSELF WHY WAS I EVER COMPLAINING AS SOON AS YOU GET THE FISH THE NEXT DAY. I GOT 2 SABRE TOOTH BARRACUDAS FOR $25 EACH AT THE SAME SIZE THAT THE CRITTER HAS FOR $85.

jez roybryan, take your midol and :chillpill: .

Gaines addressed his concerns in a very respectful way and didnt even say he was offended. Dont turn it into something its not.
